They say winter is all around us
But with the melt snow I see no proof
The time before Christmas is all exciting and anticipation
But then the day after *poof* its gone
Two months of build up to one day of celebration
Then its gone for another year
Then its New Years Eve
5,4,3,2,1 well, there goes another year
Its all just a mindset
Think one thought at a time trying to get into the spirit
But what if u just cant
Finding it hard to want to feel the cheer
All these shows and movies telling u to feel this, and feel that
But who are they to say what the season is about
About the Lord, our savior, the birth of the Christ child
Then we have TV saying “go out and buy this for someone”
Everything in your head just tossing ‘n turning
Wondering what the season is really about
Everyone has their own thoughts and feelings
But everything always fades away
But life goes on
The new year comes and u try to turn things around
It’s a whole new time
A clean slate to change ur life and make better decisions
The winter crispness is still in the air
But the snow is fading fast
You wish that time could flip into reverse
But Life doesn’t have four-wheel drive
Yet u still wish to go back and attempt to be filled with the holiday spirit
But that’s it, its over, no looking back, life moves on
You may not be ready but this isn’t a race no one calling “ready set go”
All u have is the go and that’s all u can do
Gotta keep moving and keep out the cold from freezing ur toes
The winter is like a knife, it can be used to save you or kill you
Life just moves on
